We read jummah in Knysna Masjid and then the day began. The biggest tip for Garden Route that we were given is that we should take our own food with. So my mom did. After a quick Jummah lunch of chicken and puri, we were ready to start touring Knysna.

When we passed through Knysna yesterday, there was minimal traffic on Main Road. But today, it took eighteen minutes to drive 5km. Our first stop was the Knysna Quays Waterfront.

The waterfront is very pretty with yachts decked on the harbour, people walking around and good vibes everywhere. It’s much smaller compared to V&A and way less busy which is great. There’s a mini version of Knysna junction at the Waterfront with signs that seem to be forms of protest against load shedding and the state of South Africa in general.

After the waterfront, we went to Thesen Harbour Town. It smells a bit fishy (naturally) but it’s very cute. There’s also a cafe called Ile de Pain but if you’re looking for croissants, you have to be there early.

The next part of our day is one of the highlights of my trip so far. Knysna Heads. After a steep drive, we got to the View Point. A mix of green and blue water with the sun shimmering on it and it simply took my breath away. I was in awe. As you walk further, the view gets prettier so explore a little here.

Our next stop is Coney Glen Beach. There’s two sides to this beach. If you turn left, there’s a short walk down and you end up at the beach that you could see from the View Point. The water was cooling and the rocks in the ocean were beautiful.

If you turn right, you walk down the stairs and you end up at the beach with the bridge that you could see from the view point. This was my favourite view. I sat on the bridge and just watched as the waves crashed against the rocks around me. These views never cease to amaze me and once again, I found myself wondering how beautiful Jannah is if this world is so beautiful. It’s amazing that Allah has created all these beautiful creations yet Allah calls mankind the best of all creation. Definitely something to think about.

I wasn’t done yet with the different viewpoints of the Knysna heads. The last stop was the view point by East Head Cafe. This was a little beach that had pebbles and stones instead of sand with a little cove at the end.

After this we went to Brenton On Sea. It was sunny and beautiful but very far so it was a quick stop and then we were ready to get back to Plett for sunset.

A Plett local told us to go to Robberg to watch the sunset. It was a short drive from Beacon Island to Robberg and it was really worth it. We spotted a school of dolphins as the sun was setting and it was truly a sight to behold.

We ended the day early as our trip through the Garden Route comes to a close tomorrow.
Step count: 7 301 (but should count as more because I climbed rocks the whole day)
