After a pretty eventful night/morning, I woke up at 3pm in time for lunch. We had shawarma’s from Broast Chicken which were really tasty.
After this, I read asr and decided to pay a visit to Old Hilton (Makkah Hotel). The walk to the hotel was pretty hot and the minute we entered, the nostalgia hit. Yes, things have changed a lot in Saudi but old Hilton was the same.

I had to stop for a scoop of Baskin Robbins and then we browsed through many abaya stores. We couldn’t leave Old Hilton without stopping by Marwah (ifykyk).

We left straight for the haram after this but unfortunately didn’t make it in time to get on the mataaf. Once you are in the haram, you may walk right to the end of the left hand side of the first floor. We read Maghrib here and alhamdulillah, had a view of Ka’bah.
Pro tip: if you’re with someone who needs a chair and you can’t find one, ask a guard or a cleaner with one. They will give you their one (I just returned it to them when after salaah).

After Maghrib, we made our way down to the mataaf. I spent the entire time between Maghrib and Esha looking at the Baitullah – still in awe that I was actually here.

I ended up falling asleep straight after supper which surprised me because I had slept until so late in the afternoon. That accidental nap on a couch just slaps different.
