After about a 30 minute nap, we caught the shuttle back to the airport where we found the airport to be really busy. 4am vibes at the airport are my favourite – the lack of sleep is forgotten and everyone is excited to get to their next destination.

We caught a pretty sunrise on the flight and we flew over the Sinai mountains which was so cool. But before we knew it, we had touched down in Sharm el-Sheikh. We used the indrive app to get to our hotel. Please be careful of the taxi drivers because they will definitely try to overcharge you.

We proceeded to spend the next five days chilling at the resort. I was not interested in ticking off anything on a list or worrying about missing out on anything.

There are many resorts in Sharm el-Sheikh and with some research, you can definitely find one that suits your budget and your requirements. For us, it was important that it was all inclusive because we didn’t want to have to leave the resort to eat.

We did make a few stops in Sharm:
We visited the Old Market. I love shopping in markets so I absolutely loved this. Please make sure you negotiate with the vendors because they will try to rip you off.

We also saw the Al-Sahaba Mosque which was so beautiful. It is open to the public so you can go inside to pray.

We went to Soho Square. It has restaurants, a mall, a dancing fountain and pretty festive lights. Honestly, we didn’t enjoy it at all. The mall had a very limited and very weird selection of stores. We were in and out of Soho within an hour.

Soho Square also has a Khan al Khalili which is about one row of shops. We had seen most of the stuff they were selling at Old Market already.

We also went to Farsha Cafe to make my Aladdin dream come true. At around 5:20pm, they turn the cafe lights on and it honestly looks like it’s straight out of the Aladdin movie.

We spent some time at Nama Bay Beach which has the clearest water I’ve ever seen. The mix of the mountains, the sun and the clear blue water was the perfect combination.

The verdict on Sharm el Sheikh is that it really is a little slice of heaven – the only thing that would make it better is if calories didn’t count.
