06/04/2017 – Purple Clouds takes India ๐ฎ๐ณ
Johannesburg to Abu Dhabi – 8h10m flight.
Abu Dhabi to Mumbai – 3h15m flight.
Mumbai to New Delhi – 2h20m flight.
3 flights in under 24 hours. I’m surprised that I’m able to type this.
The flight from Johannesburg to Abu Dhabi was good. In flight entertainment (Thank you Etihad Airlines for blessing the small screen with Indian music), edible food and my mummy’s shoulder to sleep on.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate how good Abu Dhabi International Airport is? I mean, the waiting area was comfortable and the duty free area was incredible. Novels, chocolate; M&M’s (in small tins, in big tins, in packets, in action figures), Reese’s and Smarties (like I haven’t seen before) and beautiful perfumes; Ellie Saab, Chanel and Dior.
We then caught our connecting flight to Mumbai. And after, a 3h12m sleep we were in Mumbai. I can pinpoint the moment that I fell in love with the city. My arm rested on the window, the wind blew my hair and the air smelled different. That’s when it happened. I always say that I want to see the world and breathe the fresh air of new places. Well, that’s just what I did.
We then boarded our last flight of the day to New Delhi. Upon arrival we were given garlands. That. Just. Made. My. Day. After, hours of travel, a stranger picked us up from the airport and welcomed us to his country. Our country. My country.
Step count: 6 825 steps.
